I am originally from Mexico and have been living and teaching ZUMBA® in the UK now since September 2008. I absolutely love it. I have always been involved in the fitness world alongside my former career as a linguist.
In March 2011 I had the fantastic opportunity to get offered the position of UK ZES (Zumba Education Specialist). Training people to become instructors allows me to spread my love and passion for ZUMBA® to others.
With more than 10 years of experience in fitness and international dance I can tell you that this program just blows me away. It never ceases to amaze me how much people can change once they become part of the ZUMBA® world! It is not just another fitness class… The energy, the happiness, the confidence it gives you … there is nothing like it.

ZUMBA® is a dynamic fitness class inspired by Latin and international rhythms.
Colombian fitness trainer “Beto” Perez stumbled upon the concept of Latin inspired fitness in the mid 1990’s. One day, he walked into his class and realised that he had forgotten his aerobics music, and his only option was to grab whatever tapes he had in his car. Beto’s tapes were comprised of the songs that he loved, the traditional Latin salsa and merengue music with which he had been raised. But it was a challenge to improvise a whole class on the spot using non-traditional aerobics music. Beto rose to the challenge and from this last-minute improvisation was born a revolutionary fitness program – Zumba®! The class soon became the most popular class at his fitness facility and later on a great success all over the world.
The Zumba® goal is simple: We want you to want to work out, to love working out, to get hooked. The routines feature interval training sessions with fast and slow rhythms and moves which are designed to tone and sculpt your body. In the past years Zumba® has become nothing short of a revolution. Coining the concept of “fitness-party” and making fitness fun, Zumba® has spread like wild-fire, and has positioned itself as the single most influential movement in the industry of fitness.
